Course features
In accordance with the curriculum guidelines of the Education Bureau and incorporating the core values of Catholic schools, including truth, righteousness, charity, life and family, the curriculum and activities are arranged in line with children's physical and mental development, so as to nurture children's spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic whole-person development. The curriculum modes include: Thematic Teaching, Project Learning, Drama Education, Bibi and Friends Courses, and English and Putonghua Specialist Courses.
Shared reading
In order to let children get in touch with English from an early age, cultivate their interest in learning English, and guide children to master the experience of language learning from picture books, the kindergarten focuses on the implementation of Shared Reading English picture books that combine various themes, so that children can be exposed to English from an early age and cultivate their interest in English learning.
During the implementation period, the illustrated Shared Reading books stimulate the development of the "five senses", and the repetition of sentences or concepts can help children build a foundation for literacy and reading, enrich their vocabulary and sentence structure, and establish a good language learning pathway.
Teachers use the content of picture books to develop different English games, such as "Teacher says", "Miming", "Role play", etc., to deepen children's understanding and use of the key language in picture books. The flexible and diverse Shared Reading teaching activities not only reduce children's stress and worries about learning English in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, but also help them take the initiative to learn, enhance their motivation and interest in learning foreign languages, engage in the classroom, know how to express ideas in a flexible and changeable way, and promote interpersonal interaction.
Furthermore, in order to help children extend their learning at home, Activity Kits are designed for children to learn at home and consolidate their knowledge.
Integration of religious elements
Our school integrates religious elements into Chinese themes. When children understand the content of each theme, the spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic spiritual aspects can be developed in a balanced manner. Through the "Starlight with Me" teaching kit, "Light and Salt Books" stories, Bible stories and other teaching materials, children can learn about different core religious messages and understand the Catholic faith.
Through a variety of religious activities, such as religious classes, Prayer Service for the Month of the Rose of Our Lady, Christmas Parent-Child Prayer Service, Easter Prayer Service, and Prayer Service for the Month of Mary, the Children's Love and Respect for Christ are strengthened.
The school also encourages Catholics or non-Catholic children in lower and upper classes to participate in the team activity "Seedlings of Christ", to demonstrate the spirit of Christ's love and service, unite the power of love and evangelization, and learn from Jesus' good example, so that children can spread the Lord's message, help each other and serve the community in their daily lives.
